Note: We have not accepted registrations for this program for a number of years. There was no longer much of a market for it after most CD vendors started using the autorun functionality in Windows. I still provide this page so that registered users can download a new copy, should the need ever arise. Others are welcome to download and use the program, but can't register the program and are not eligible for any technical support. If you are using the unregistered program, and run into the limit on number of disks, you can send me a code request, describing how you are using the program. I will then send you a special code to unlock that limit.
The easiest way to launch your CD-ROMs. It remembers how to launch your CDs so you don't have to. Remove that clutter of Icons, run your CDs just using this one Icon. If you use Windows and have a CD-ROM drive you MUST try this program! Supports multi-CD drive(s), network CD drives, and all kinds of removable media drives too. Shareware. Requires Windows95+/NT/or3.1+ and VBRUN300.DLL. See Ziff-Davis review and Windows 9x notes below.

CD-EZ is a handy utility that remembers how to launch your CD-ROMs so you don't have to. It eliminates the multitude of icons for launching various CD-ROM products by providing one icon that will launch any program on a CD-ROM. Some CDs require a one-time setup to tell CD-EZ which executable file to launch at startup, but many are self-configuring. You can also listen to your favorite audio CDs using CD-EZ and your favorite Windows CD player. If you're looking for a simple way to run your CDs, give CD-EZ a try.
If you are using CD-EZ with Win 3.x and upgrade to Windows 95, your CDs will probably report new IDs (and not be identified). If this happens, the program includes a menu selection for adjusting your disk IDs. The proper adjustment number appears to be -65536 (but yours may be different). The help file includes more info on the option (Edit-Adjust Disk IDs).
If you choose to run Flexi-CD at all times, CD-EZ will no longer work in the normal mode. It will have to be set up as a network (or no audio) type CD drive.
There is a 2.0 Version of the program, a 32-bit version which adds some new features. I can make the old beta 2.0 release available if there is some interest. It is not anticipated that an actual 2.0 version will ever be released.
